It’s More Than a School or a Campus. It’s a Community.
Every year, campuses evolve to better support their students’ needs. It is becoming increasingly important that educational institutions offer a variety of valuable options focused towards attracting and retaining students. High schools are offering more STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and online courses, and community colleges are offering more 4-year programs. To increase student engagement and achievement, these educational institutions must focus on a strong and diverse school community.
With that comes the need for more space to store essentials, such as books, research materials, athletic team equipment, school records, and more. Without adequate space, classroom environments become disorganized, inefficient, and can limit learning and growth.
libraries
The traditional library concept—a collection of books in a building with people reading them quietly—is shifting.
Increasingly, libraries are becoming anchors for their communities, reaching beyond books and materials to provide seminars and classes, collaborative workspaces, media labs, and more.
At the same time, technology consistently transforms the way information is consumed. From e-books and online courses to live trainings and hand-on learning, there are plenty of mediums competing for space in today’s libraries. That’s not to say that books, periodicals, microfilm, audio, and video are a thing of the past—far from it.

Smart Lockers for Temporary Storage
Students can easily use their student ID or phone to open a locker that can store their personal items as they spend time at the campus library. These experiences provide a seamless experience this generation has come to expect.
Pick-Up Lockers
Package delivery lockers allow students and faculty to retrieve things they’ve ordered on their own time, such as checked-out books or other materials from the library. At Wake Forest University’s Z. Smith Reynolds Library, they added a smart locker bank in their 24/7 accessible foyer. The lockers, through an integration with the University’s RFID campus ID cards, created a solution that’s still big on service — and bigger in efficiency.
High-Density Mobile Storage
If you’ve wrestled with the challenge of trying to cull a large book collection to make room for additional spaces within your library, we’re here to tell you that there’s another option. Mobile storage systems allow you to store double the amount of books and other printed materials in the same amount of book storage—or half in the same amount of space. In placing existing shelving into mobile carriage, book collections are compressed into a space with one aisle, reducing wasted space. Simply pressing a button on the carriage or turning a three-spoke mechanical assist handle creates access to other aisles—allowing library patrons to retrieve what they need when they need it.
Cantilever Book Storage
Cantilever shelving’s appealing and modern look, united with its durability, makes for a great compact book storage solution. For academic, corporate, public and legal library purposes, cantilever shelving offers a comprehensive range of options and accessories to address the needs of your library today and plan for the future. The system accommodates an array of media formats, books, articles, newspapers, and much more.
Off-site Library Storage
When book collections expand to the point where they can’t be kept in one location, many libraries are choosing to invest in off-site facilities for additional library storage. In the case of North Carolina’s Wake Forest University their off-site warehouse had a small footprint with tall ceilings. In creating a high-bay mobile storage system, the university was able to maximize every available inch of a narrow building.

College sports recruiters know that the look and feel of athletic facilities play more of a role in recruiting than ever before.
athletic equipment
This was the case for the University of Notre Dame, who upgraded to mobile shelving from static wooden shelving that was wasting precious space. The high density storage doubled the amount of equipment that could be stored in the same footprint. The system is one piece of a completely renovated football storage room that has become a showpiece for the Division I school.

Hospitals & Laboratories
University Hospitals
On-campus hospitals and clinics are typically smaller than the average public healthcare facility—and with smaller medical buildings come far less space for supplies. Efficient healthcare storage solutions can increase efficiency and organization, helping healthcare practitioners on campus spend more of their time treating students. Similarly, medical and science laboratories require workstations suited to their specialties. Utilizing ultra chemical resistant and durable phenolic resin work surfaces in laboratory casework helps meet safety and quality standards.
University Laboratories
Modern research and teaching labs need the best in safety, security, and storage. That’s why we offer storage capabilities that allow you to build high performance and precise work spaces. Our custom capabilities include cabinets, locked glass drawers, raceways, and more.
Cabinets
Every lab uses a variety of different equipment and supplies, and classroom setups can be changed multiple times a day. To make storage more efficient and effective for varying needs, our cabinets can be designed specifically for you.
Locked Doors
Keep hazardous supplies and expensive equipment out of harm’s way with locked glass doors. Locked drawers and cabinets can also be used to store student’s personal belongings.
Raceways
Work islands and base cabinets can house Ethernet, electrical and plumbing easily with raceways. They are easy to access for maintenance, and keep areas free of wires and plumbing.
retail/ bookstore
Our modular shelving systems double storage capacity within existing retail footprints while organizing inventory for efficient access. Smart lockers provide pickup services, creating a seamless borrowing and purchasing experience that saves staff and student time.
Administration & Campus
Mailrooms
Digital records are king on college campuses—but in administrative offices, there’s still a need for paper and supply storage. Mobile shelving can give you organized and immediate access to files and records, and for those that need to be kept confidential or under restricted access, PIN pad and audit trail capabilities can be added for extra security. For environments such as campus mailrooms, modular casework allows you to configure storage as needs change.
From delivery to pick-up, packages can take up a large portion of staff’s time to sort and deliver. To dramatically reduce time spent on student deliveries, consider implementing smart lockers into campus mailrooms. Not only does it increase productivity and efficiency, it is able to be integrated with mail tracking systems, which can lead to labor savings with multiple deliveries and mail tracking.
